Over here in Ireland, they charge .22 cents for a bag. Most people have their own bags but you do see an occasional person with a plastic one. Plus at the end of checkout stations, stores have boxes placed there in case anyone wants one. The boxes come from the stuff the store receives in diliveries.
I wouldn't confront people but using your own bag sends the message. People can see and maybe they'll change their ways.Billhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12250609752743750337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3154204376346679777.post-12281068670445734222019-04-23T06:12:13.781-04:002019-04-23T06:12:13.781-04:00i have cloth bags and request paper if an extra on...i have cloth bags and request paper if an extra one is needed. Plastic bags being phased out. Now, so are plastic straws. I think best not to confront strangers on many matters this day and age.Joaredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03155775053108104385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3154204376346679777.post-51773482042817008142019-04-21T12:12:34.804-04:002019-04-21T12:12:34.804-04:00I think the shops should consider not supplying pl...I think the shops should consider not supplying plastic bags at all, or perhaps charge $1.00 or more each. But sadly, I think some people would still use them.Shammickitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11969803866899076638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3154204376346679777.post-66197637074495854022019-04-21T07:10:39.547-04:002019-04-21T07:10:39.547-04:00I've had cloth bags for about ten years now Sh...I've had cloth bags for about ten years now Shammi, and smaller net bags for fruit and veg. Some habits are hard to break...so many, many years of taking the bags and not even thinking about the end result. I do bring my own bags into the store most of the time but still am guilty of a memory lapse or two. To answer your question, I missed my hot crossed buns this year...the flu and diet sidelined me this year. I do love that buttery warm taste.photowannabehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11760961275666768173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3154204376346679777.post-48185113064864340192019-04-19T06:02:15.953-04:002019-04-19T06:02:15.953-04:00I guess the main point for me is to take care of y...I guess the main point for me is to take care of your plastic bags if you have them. Reuse them and make sure they don't join the loose debris.Anvilcloudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07974744042579564912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3154204376346679777.post-65311846608406505322019-04-18T16:59:46.396-04:002019-04-18T16:59:46.396-04:00No I wouldn't bother to confront. I don't ...No I wouldn't bother to confront. I don't think that person is completely oblivious to the plastic bag deluge here. Maybe they are reusing for other purposes or they just don't care. Eventually, they'll all be banned anyway.
Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14788733654505792266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3154204376346679777.post-14822501324353167322019-04-17T20:39:29.466-04:002019-04-17T20:39:29.466-04:00I do my own thing. If you do need one you have to go and hunt someone down and pay for one. If I forget my bag, I fill the trolley and take the stuff to my car and fill the bags up in the back of my car. I must have used the same bags for 8 years now.LL Cool Joehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13916666100971008775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3154204376346679777.post-60953671845226943942019-04-17T18:05:59.001-04:002019-04-17T18:05:59.001-04:00We also carry cloth bags.
