While I've been posting about England, my back yard has been blooming!
Clockwise from top left: Purple Coneflower (echinacea purpurea); Lady's Mantle leaves with jewels of rain (and a fly); vivid blue Delphinium; Day Lily (hemerocallis); red Blanket Flower (gaillardia) with a bee laden with pollen; sweet blue Forget-me-nots; green tomatoes, soon to be juicy and red I hope; pink and white Impatiens or Busy Lizzie; and in the centre the blue sky of summer (if you enlarge the image there's a tiny bee flying across the sky.... or maybe it's a 747 very high up.... you decide).
Me thinks its a dragonfly wanting to get in your summer collage.
ReplyDeleteYou have some gorgeous flowers blooming in your garden. Thanks for sharing.
Dennis thinks everything is looking really good! Broiling here, lots of wilt and deer damage, nice to see a brilliant garden.
ReplyDeleteYour photos? Very nice.
ReplyDeleteYour back yard must be stunning!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular arrangement of flowers!
ReplyDeleteI would go for the bee; I don't see any white line behind the flying "thing"!
ReplyDeleteWith flowers lie this in your garden, you should definteley take the time to watch!
Beautiful and colourful, ex-S. I'm envious. I'm growing a lovely crop of weeds though. That's weedS, Suldog.. with an S. ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post! I love the sky in the middle, too!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I don't know when I'll be finished with my current project... We'll see where I'm at in a month! LOL. :0

I think it's a dragonfly too! Or a skydiver. Lovely photos. My tomatoes are still green too (here in good old quebec - maybe we should move down south, they've probably been eating tomatoes all winter! LOL)
ReplyDeletedo you sell your lovely photos? think about it!!
ReplyDeletem.e.
methinks the speck in the middle picture is a wasp....
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteDid you get to Devon ?
ReplyDeleteI hate humid weather and in July and August it is usually dull and miserable as well. May is our month for good weather.
I was taught in school that Canada has a long winter and a short summer - no other seasons. Probably wide of the mark but these things stick in your mind.
Thanks for coming by to visit. Your flowers are just gorgeous and I love how you made the photo grid with them. The horses are so darn cute!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collage!
ReplyDeleteThat's no bee, it's a mossy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. It is so nice to see insects in gardens, especially as bees are now getting rare. I bet you don't use chemicals.
