Splash!

I was at a pool party in a friend's lovely back yard. Here's the view during the day.......
 .... and after dark.
A pool in the back yard would be wonderful, I'd be swimming in it every day, but it's a lot of work, especially with so many trees dropping leaves, and the Canadian summer is so short, only 4 months of swimming weather and then it's time to winterize the pool until the next hint of summer sunshine.

  1. What a beautiful place. I love to swim. Sounds that you must have had a good time with your friends. The place where the swimming pool is located looks beautiful:)

  2. It does look glorious. Night swims are wonderful.
In a house we rented years ago we had a pool. I DID spend a lot of time in it, and can also attest to the work involved.

  5. It is nice to have the pool Shammi, we had it put in when we first bought the house and it's been fantastic, my two were born January and February, the two hottest months here in Perth so it was brilliant for birthday parties as they grew up and hot family Christmases and gatherings, but you're right it does take a lot of work to look after, still worth it though. Looks like you had a fab time with friends.

  6. Having had to care for a pool through the summer, I can attest to that.

  7. There aren't four months of swimming weather here, Shammi. More like two. Lots of work with a pool. That one is a beauty though.

  10. Beautiful yard!!
Hello!! Sorry it's been soooo long since I've been around. Things have been a lot more chaotic around here than my auto-posted photos on my blog show. Kitty is my in-laws, where we stayed for a few days because of a flood at our apartment in SF. Miscellaneous other headaches this year too have left me exhausted. Hoping 2018 will be better. xoxo

  11. That looks like a very enjoyable time. My cousin had a pool when we were growing up and we visited a lot.:) You right though, it's a lot of work and I wouldn't want to do it.
Super night shot of the pool.

  13. That's gorgeous - the pool, the yard, everything! But, you're right, it's a lot of work. We had one here in Ocala in our first house and it cost a fortune and was a tremendous amount of work and we could use it year round! Well, sometimes it got too cold, but... I'd never have another one! :)
