Badlands
What is it? A sea of mud? Sleeping elephants? A Mammoth graveyard?
It's the Cheltenham Badlands. You can read all about the geology of the site here.
There's a viewing platform for looking at the landscape and lots of information boards. People walking on the formations were causing too much erosion.
It doesn't look forgiving country...
