All Moved In!

It's said that moving house is one of the most stressful experiences in life, right up there with birth, marriage and death, and it's true.
The actual move went very smoothly, with the moving truck and a posse of beefy men arriving on time, the loading and unloading was a breeze with only two trips from the old house to the new.
But from the next day on, I was incommunicado!
The phone company installed the phone, but no internet.
So I had a phone for a couple of days.
But then I was accidently disconnected while they tried to connect the internet.
Which affected the security system, so every time I opened the front door, the alarm went off.
WAH WAH WAH WAH WAH for 5 minutes.
I don't think my new neighbours appreciated this very much. Especially at 6:00am when I went off to my babysitting duties.
And to top it off, the doorknob between the house and the garage broke, so I was forced to use the front door if I wanted to go outside.

I was in seclusion.

But all is repaired now.... new doorknob mechanism, phone and internet are working, but now my monitor screen has died, so I am working with a borrowed screen, which will have to be returned very soon, so I'll be a non-blogger again for a while! So if you don't see me commenting on your blogs, you know why. sigh....

Meanwhile, I'm 90% unpacked, and I'll have to start preparing for Christmas. It snowed last week so we are going to have a White Christmas for sure.

  2. Glad to hear you're all (mostly) moved and things are now (mostly) working. I'll echo Beverly, in that, if we don't see you before then around here, Merry Christmas!

  3. And just when I was thinking and wondering about you! So glad you're moved in and most hiccups are fixed. Be kind to yourself these days. It's not just the stress of moving, you know!

  4. Happy to hear that the move went well and all the little "surprises" are now fixed.

I've been really busy and pretty much quit blogging. Just can't seem to find the energy and Facebook seems to better suit my lifestyle right now. Settling in, looking for work and running errand for my dad (who has not been too well since May) has been taking up most of my time. Things are looking up though :)

Wishing you a great Holiday Season xox :)

  6. Well done with the move. Are you sill in the same area?

I have a spare LCD monitor sitting here doing nothing. Want me to drop it around?

  11. Moving before Christmas like this must be double hard. I hope when you have time you’ll take pictures to show us your new surroundings. Don't overdo it and have a wonderful Christmas time.

  13. You had me at "a posse of beefy men." ;)

Glad to hear that you're mostly settled. Get that new monitor and you'll be in full swing. Same town? Or did you move elsewhere?

  14. Hi,
Thank you for stopping by! ... that was one of those significant events in my much younger life. I tended flower pots ... sat and listened to the lake and just spent time ... I used to go there before the crash but then totally everything changed!
I am glad you are settling in ... I have to agree with you ~ it is absolutely so distressing to move ... I do not like it, at all!
And you guys have had so much snow ... I find it hard to believe that we still have bare ground and you guys are buried.
I wish you a great Christmas ... and a peaceful Christmas, not worrying about what is unpacked and what is not!
    Very best wishes,
    Barbara

  17. Happy to see you are almost finished with the big move.
Have great Christmas and sure hope it is a white one.
Alas for us it is not looking good for a traditional Christmas. It has been raining and fog for three days and looks like three more days. most anomalous.
