Hockey!

I've spent more time this year in ice hockey arenas than ever before. Three of my grandies are playing hockey in house league and last week we all went to watch the local Junior 'A' team play a home game.
The Stouffville Spirit standing for the national anthem "O Canada" before the game.
And action on the rink. They were playing the Lindsay Muskies.... Our team won 6-3. After spending so many Saturday mornings watching the little kids on the ice, these teenage players look HUGE!

  1. We wonder if our grandson will play hockey. The girls just want to dance.

  3. We've gone to a number of games in which our grandkids participated. Overall, it was fun but I'm rather glad I'm past that point and the grandkids (and great-grandkids) live far away. I'm just too tired and the kiddos are saturated with energy!

  4. An excellent action shot!

Not having children, I don't get out to arenas often.

  5. I’ve never been to a hockey game though I have seen some on TV. Game seems rough as some play, but guess that’s true of any sport — there seem always to be a few who don’t respect good sportsmanship. Hope it’s safer than our U.S. football and the hockey players brains aren’t being subjected to concussion. Congrats on you team’s win!

  6. It's a fast and exciting game to watch Shammi, I remember when my son was young and played cricket, now that is a really, can I say it, boring game to watch 😀😀

  7. Sue is crocheting seat warmers for our visits to the arena. AS of last visit, they hadn't yet turned on the heaters over the bleachers. And some of the arenas in the vicinity don't even have them.

  9. A very fast game to watch and follow especially if your not familiar with the players names. I image watching the small ones is a lot easier and enjoyable.

  11. Hi Shammy! Just wanted to thank you for your support - your checking out my blog and your generous comments! Hope all is well with you. Keep a watch out for flying hockey pucks, among other things! :)

  12. I love hockey. Unfortunately, when I was a kid, there was zero hockey being played where I live. Now, it is everywhere.
