Back to Normal?

Oh-oh, I looked at the date and I haven't posted for almost a month! Probably because I haven't really been very far from home or done anything very exciting. Even though I was given permission to drive only 2 weeks after the hip surgery, YoungerSon had commandeered my car while his was getting some TLC, so I was without wheels. And then of course, there was the Olympics, and it was so easy to make myself comfortable on the couch and watch all those crazy athletes vying for medals. I loved it! Canada surpassed expectations in the medal count, Go CANADA Go, but we fell down badly in both the men's and women's curling, which Canada was expected to win. However we won gold in the mixed doubles curling, a new Olympic sport this year. Hooray!
So what else have I been doing? I went to see the movie "Peter Rabbit", yep those cute little bunnies wearing jackets are REAL I tell you! And I donated this small framed lino print for the silent auction at our Art Gallery Auction, I wonder if anyone will bid on it.
And the new hip update: all doing well, only 2 more physiotherapy visits left. The site of the incision is still a bit sore, but I'm walking upright and straight, and both legs are the same length, phew!
And just because it's still cold and a bit snowy outside, and winter isn't over yet, here are the lovely primroses (or are they primula?) a gift from my thoughtful daughter-in-law.

  1. I'm glad to note that you haven't lost your sense of humor through all of these problems. "Both legs the same length" . Hee hee! I do hope someone bids on your beautiful work and more than that, buys it. Best to you as your recovery continues!

  2. Good to know you are doing ok with your hip.

We’ve had snow here! How unusual, but hopefully melting away now.

  3. Hello. There are other nice things besides the blog. I also watched the Olympics. I am glad that everything is good with your hip also. There is frost in our country, but very little snow. Going for walks is so safe, but the temperature does not allow for longer walks. So I go a lot at home, because I have to get rid of the weaving. Regards.

  4. I am glad you recovery went so well! That surgery saves a great deal of suffering by the sound of it. To be able to drive after two weeks is a vast improvement!

  6. I read the past posts about your hip surgery. I’m happy for you that your life looks almost has gotten back to the normal. I watched Winter Olympics, too, simply rooting for Japanese athletes, and was impressed by the touching stories behind their brilliant performances. In my impression, Canadians looked natural at dealing with ice. The lovely primroses tell spring is not far away. Take care of yourself while enjoying life.

  7. I'm glad you are recovering so well from your operation.

When I was in the States recently the Winter Olympics was on everywhere, but as someone who hates sport I have to say I was glad when it was over. My partner loved it though.

  9. Hi again! Thanks for your nice comment! Yes, it's warm enough to swim, but not a lot of people are in the pool. They have a pool "yoga" or something like that, in the mornings; so far as I can tell, it's all women doing exercises. The pools are heated, also. The next few days will be a bit cooler, so there may not be any swimming for a time.

  14. Yep, it's me again! Hope that all goes well with you. And I wanted to answer your question: Yes, I've had a few people get very angry with me. One guy from San Francisco sent me stuff "proving" Obama was a Communist but I finally gave up and blocked him. And there's another person who is still active in the CDP community - a "big shot" (or so he thinks) and I simply quit commenting on his blog. I'm sure there are others who I never hear from. A lot of people feel that one should not make political comments on a CDP blog, but our situation is so serious (certainly close to Germany in the 30s) that us regular folks must speak out every chance we get..
