The York Regional Forest trails are coming to life after a long winter. We walked part of Holledge Tract.... mostly flat, just a couple of small slopes. The woodland flowers are blooming.
Sessile Bellwort uvularia sessifolia also known as Merrybells or Wild Oats |
Wood Anemone anemone memorosa |
Bulbous Buttercup ranunculous bulbosus also known as St Anthony's Turnip! |
Trout Lily erythronium americanum also known as Adder's Tongue or Dogtooth Violet. |
A great walk. These woodland flowers are true signs of spring and bring joy to everyone who sees them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful woodsy blooms. So tiny and delicate..love them.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful things. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Looks like a walk well taken
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice walk with lovely spring flowers. Buttercups are really nice and I never knew their other name.
ReplyDeleteEven a cold May hasn't stopped them.
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother used to get mad with me for looking at my feet as I walked along - but how else could one see all these beautiful treasures laid out on the ground?
ReplyDeleteReally love your photo of the Trout Lily :)
Lovely flowers!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful series of wildflowers from your walk Shammi, nice to get out in the fresh air. We're off on a hike this weekend.
ReplyDeleteBtw it was my first shot, Astrazeneca, next one in eleven weeks. Oh my gosh I had a horrible reaction. Still feeling really tired. Which type did you get?
I got Pfizer, and I was fine. But here in Ontario the AstraZeneca shot has been discontinued due to the possibility of blood clots.
DeleteLovely set of flowers. Now I'm wondering if what was growing in my yard was a Wood Anemone, and not a Carolina Spring Beauty. Hmmm... (I don't know much about plants.)
