Random ramblings from the cluttered brain of a Brit ex-pat North Devonian trying to keep cool in the steamy summers and warm in the frosty winters of The Great White North.

Brother, Can You Spare a .... Quarter?
A very long time ago, my sons nailed a quarter to the sidewalk outside the house, then peeped out of the window to see if anyone tried to pick it up.
Obviously nobody did. It's still there, twenty odd years later.
I hope it is not in a spot where you have to shovel the snow often. My daughter glued coins on the sidewalk for April Fools, and some determined individual walked away with a hard-earned forty cents.
I think every kid tries something like that. Pretty strong to get the nail through the quarter.
ReplyDeleteCute story.
Boys...mine did the same thing.
ReplyDeleteNot the best way to use a quarter!
ReplyDeleteRemember putting pennies on a rail way track?
ReplyDeleteDog "Scrooge" Bait will soon fix that!
ReplyDeleteThat is just amazing....! Considering it has been there so very long it looks weather worn but...Still There! I never heard of doing that before...
ReplyDeleteI wish I could see your Variety Show, too....Will someone Video any of it? Maybe you can post a bit of it on your Blog...!
at least that quarter never lost it's memorable value over the years.
ReplyDeleteThat makes such a cool photo, Shammie. You can just barely still see the caribou horns.

They must have worked hard to get the nail through the quarter! Don't kids have great imaginations?
