Does this look like an Angel to you?
Angel is a sculpture by local artist Ron Baird and was erected on the Sculpture Walk in September of 2010.
Ron Baird was the first director of our town's Latcham Gallery, and has donated another work, Nutum, which stands outside the Gallery building.
Angel is well travelled, first exhibited in Sudbury, Ontario, then in Ottawa, and then spending some time on the Baird property before being moved to Stouffville.
Beautiful sculpture!
ReplyDeleteLooks weightlessness.
Have a nice Sunday.
I suspect it's one of those pieces that really requires introspection to see the Angel in it.
ReplyDeleteI can't say that it does, to me. Rocket ship, maybe...
ReplyDeleteHmmm, well, to be honest...no.
ReplyDeleteIt sort of looks like a bird in flight, or maybe a rocketship.
Great photo anyway.
OH! I didn't know Ron Baird was the gallery's first director! Fascinating!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have guessed angel at first, but yes, I think I can see it now. The angel is making a rapid descent, like a swooping bird. Better swooping than falling, especially when it comes to angels, eh?
ReplyDeleteAt the risk of sounding like a Philistine, it looks more like the tool my DH uses to clean the cleats on his golf shoes.
ReplyDeleteBut what do I know?
I'm a very literal person and it doesn't look angelic to me.
Sorry..
have a great weekend
hugs
xx
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThat is a great photograph but I am not really seeing the angel too much! Then again, I am guessing that angels come in all forms!
I love the pictures of your flowers ... it has been a long winter. I thought I might get up your way this weekend. My son speed skates and there is a meet in Barrie this weekend but too many skaters to have everyone go!
Maybe next time!
Very best ~ Barbara
