39 Varieties

On my way to OlderSon's house, I pass this building. Usually traffic is too busy for me to stop, and I sail by. But this time I decided to pull over and have a closer look.
I love the subtle faded colours and the peeling paint and the general dilapidated appearance. This is still a working farm, but no longer in use as a Farmer's Market. 39 varieties? I wish it was still open.

  1. It is a shame that places like this are often not viable any more. Over here there seems to be an increasing number of places like this that sell specialist stuff - not cheap but good.

  2. It is very sad to see a place like this look so dilapidated, when you know it used to be such a vital thriving place. I like this picture, a lot! It sets such a mood and tells a story, too, of what once was, but is now gone.

  3. I can see why you like this building and it is a pity it isn't open any longer.

  4. I can see this market was once open with lot of fresh vegetables. Beautiful photo.

  5. Great photo Shammie! I'm glad you stopped to take it. I love this old barn with the peeling paint and the warn colors. I wonder what the blues were? And the yellow must have been a sun, right? Too bad their farmers market isn't up and running anymore...but perhaps they sell their fresh fruits or veggies at a co-op or city farmers market where many farmers sell their harvest?

I think I recently read that we have 25 farmer's markets weekly. I know of 5 that I can walk to.

  7. Love the character of the barn. Too bad it's not open to buy all those varieties of goodies.
