Random ramblings from the cluttered brain of a Brit ex-pat North Devonian trying to keep cool in the steamy summers and warm in the frosty winters of The Great White North.

Spring!
The view out of my kitchen window about 5 minutes ago......
... yes, that's snow falling from the sky! In fact, it's been snowing all day.
Isn't Spring wonderful????
The season change seems to have delayed all over the world. We are still having high temperatures during the day though the nights have finally started to cool.
Oops! I think someone forgot to tell the snow gods that winter was over and they need to take a hike so spring could take over! One thing, though, is you know that this cannot last. The sun will shine and the air will warm and you will be dancing a jig out on that deck!
Wow...doesn't the snow know that it's time to hit the road? We have had so much rain the last few weeks...that's unusual for us in this area too. Thanks for stopping by my blog... Yes we were pooped by the end of the day. We tried to be in bed by 9PM but the High Schoolers were still raring to go....but you know...when one is tired ....crashing is easier. It's taken me a full week at home to get my sleep pattern back to "normal" what ever that is... It was a fantastic experience and my team friends are some of my closest friends because of the 2 weeks. I wouldn't trade it for anything but once a year is enough for me...(:0)
We have been wondering around here when will Spring come. Our postal lady said that this year we will probably skip Spring since it does happens sometimes. I still hold hopes though. May you have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for asking Shammy about the people on my blog. Ours wasn't a feeding program but food was given for added sustainence. We were involved with local churches and their pastors knew who needed a bit of extra help to make it through. Those that live in the dump continue to gather things to recycle and make some money. Our purpose was mainly to build homes for the selected few and have programs for the local kids, set up a bicycle repair program with local people that were taught how to repair so people could get to work and school. they repaired 300 bicycles in that week and developed some new jobs. Our church has been going to this area for 21 years and have a presence and acceptance in the town.
What a wonderful wintertime in the spring! No snow in my part of the world, but the past three days were bitterly cold after unseasonal warm days when I could enjoy “hanami” to my heart’s content. Many people feel "spring stress" due to big weather difference.
That's terrible but hopefully it will change soon, very soon.

We haven't had it coming down here yet, but that could change anytime soon. We've certainly got the sort of skies for snow.
ReplyDeleteLovely indeedL. Feels like -17 here today, snow tonight, tomorrow and Sunday. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteSame here. :(
