Apple of My Eye

Playing in the sketch book again.
Lots of layers of lacy paper stuck onto the page with matte medium making nice textures..... the edges of some paper placemats leftover from a dinner long ago. Then pics of apples cut out from a grocery flyer. Enhanced with the application of some yellow and green acrylic paint smeared on with a palette knife, then some red ink misted with water to make the ink run, then the red circles printed with a jar lid.... and finally some gold paint sloshed around.
A messy mess but fun to do.

  2. It might make an excellent texture to apply to photographs. I don't do much of that, but I have done some.

  4. How old are you? Heh, heh! And wasn't there a painter who just threw paint at a canvas - can't remember his name. Actually, I like this a lot. I see a face and two eyes and I love the red and gold together. Great fun. I'm wondering what your dreams are like? I'll bet they're full of color and full of adventurous activities.

    1. I think that was Jackson Pollock. He threw and dribbled paint onto huge canvases and now they sell for millions!

  5. I can imagine how you enjoyed yourself by playing wild in the sketchbook. Thank you for your comment as always. I’d like to see snow covered autumn foliage in person.

  6. Playing and experimenting with different processes can turn in to a nice piece of art. This is a wonderful example of that. I love it!

    1. I'm not really comfortable with creating abstract works, so just experimenting with layers always brings very unpredictable results.

  8. Many techniques in your ideas created an art. It is beautiful. How fun to do that I can imagine. I really agree with your friend Bill Burke here.

Thank you for your kind comment on my post.
I have told to the rose grower and he said he did not mind. Actually that was the second time to post about him. I know he has already seen my post on his PC.
    Have a nice weekend.
