Worth Repeating

I saw this on a facebook page (yes, with so much spare time on my hands I have been tempted by the dreaded facebook), and I thought it was worth repeating here.
My apologies to whoever wrote it.... I don't know your name so I can't give you credit, but it certainly describes how I am feeling right now.

We fell asleep in one world, and woke up in another.
Suddenly Disney is out of magic,
Paris is no longer romantic,
New York doesn't stand up anymore,
the Chinese wall is no longer a fortress, and Mecca is empty.
Hugs & kisses suddenly become weapons, and not visiting parents & friends becomes an act of love.
Suddenly you realise that power, beauty & money are worthless, and can't get you the oxygen you're fighting for.
The world continues its life and it is beautiful. It only puts humans in cages. I think it's sending us a message:
"You are not necessary. The air, earth, water and sky without you are fine. When you come back, remember that you are my guests. Not my masters."

Now if only we can remember this when the world starts to return to what we used to think was normal.

  1. I fear earth’s message is falling on deaf ears.

  3. I like that quotation and it’s so true. I saw a cartoon of Mother Earth saying something to the effect that we have not taken care of her, now she is not interested in taking care of us, but hope we’ll get the message. Am not sure about it; it is said that humans have a shorter attention span time than goldfishes!
It is beautiful here today, close to 73 F (22.7 C) with a bright blue sky – so inviting to get out for a walk… But then I have to remember it’s like Chernobyl, the air is not our friend anymore.

  5. Wow very well stated that values have shifted for now. But what is next after we recover? We seniors have seen so much change over time. Lately it has taken a serious turn damaging our planet too much. Since Covid many places are less polluted and some wildlife will have greater freedom this spring as we stay huddled in our nests. For once we are stumped by nature.
I used to follow your posts years back but failed to keep up.
Happy to see you are around .so far our area is coping with the virus in NE GTA .

  7. This WILL pass. Life as we used to know it will have to change. Who knows how it will be different. If you can find some way to help somebody else (while still staying safe), I promise you will feel better.

  8. We have been put in "Time Out". We are learning who is important and what is important. We have people risking their lives daily, some because they want to, some because it is their job and some because the need their job. Stay safe everyone.
