Is it Christmas or not?

To quote the Toronto Star:
"A Canadian judge has ordered the removal of a Christmas tree from a Toronto courthouse lobby, saying it might offend non-Christians..... the artificial tree was moved to an administrative corridor in the courthouse."
So we can't allow public display of symbols of our culture in case it might offend someone? Are we THAT sensitive?
Canada is a multi-cultural society, surely we can all learn to live with one another without having to abandon any traditions, whether Jewish, Hindu, Moslem, Sikh, etc.
Political correctness reaches a new low.
What rubbish!

  1. That is totally nuts! and I suspect the fir christmas isn't really a christian symbol at all. All this PC stuff is almost unbelievable at times! :)

  2. Hello
Thanks for your comment on my blog. My gosh it does seem rather crazy that PC has gone that far!

  3. Same Here in O'l Blighty. In the papers today a School Head Master has banned the words "virgin Mary' from the nativity play in case it upsets non Christians also there were talk of calling the School holidays Winter breaks instead of Christmas's all gone mad!!

  4. I grew up just outside Toronto and remember it starting years ago in my school. It was jsut a matter of time, right?
