E is for Exhibition

Every spring, our local Art Gallery hosts a juried Exhibition of recent work by artists across Ontario. Artists are invited to submit up to two works of art in any medium.

This year, more than 260 entries of paintings, sculptures, drawings, photography and other creative media were submitted, with 26 being selected to be displayed.

The resulting Exhibition presents visitors with a challenging collection of ideas and themes by numerous different artists from across the Province.

  2. Off the subject, is the pack of Cards hotel in Combe Martin? I might have the wrong place but I can remember staying in this hotel which had a press gang table.

  3. Fizzy: I took more pics but these 2 were the best ones.

Dogbait: Yep, The Pack O'Cards is in Combe martin, I have spent some of my wilder moments there back in my youth. I think the press gang table has been sold.... a former landlord got into financial trouble and sold off some of the assets.

  4. Lovely art work and a great series.
To answer your question on my blog. Nope no more yard sales for a long time. It was fun and we made money but it will be a while before I want to attempt another.

  7. This IS a good idea, Ex-S, and should happen everywhere. There are so many un-noticed artists who need their day in the sun. Remember all those famous painters that never "made it" till after they died! Starving artists. We need to figure out how to make their art sustain them!

  11. Is any of your work on show?

I could spend hours in a gallery, what time does it shut? I will pop over for a quick look and bring you some local strawberries!

  16. I love it when communities support their local artists. Whenever I get the chance to go to arts and crafts fairs or exhibits, I love seeing what other local artists are working on.
