Random ramblings from the cluttered brain of a Brit ex-pat North Devonian trying to keep cool in the steamy summers and warm in the frosty winters of The Great White North.

Freezing Fog
Boxing Day morning dawned cold and foggy and still. My back yard was transformed into a fairyland of delicate blossoms of ice crystals. Jack Frost had visited in the night.
Henry David Thoreau said, "It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see." Your pictures wonderfully capture our attention so that the beauty of creation does not go unnoticed, and I have to thank you for that. Right now I'm thinking that if I ever lost my sight, I would surely miss it. The details and texture of the frost... it's magical!
Just beautiful...in your yard. We have been pounded over and over again with snow. As always your pictures are glorious. I would love your lentil soup recipe if you share.
These pictures are amazing. Really beautiful. Thanks for visiting my blog. I tried to find a repeat of the segment I wrote about on the BBC website, but it looks as if they put stuff on a week in arrears. I then googled the name of the segment, and the first thing that came up was my blog entry. Maybe they'll have it on the BBC website next week.
What beauty the winter brings... if only we take the time to seek it out.
All the very best to you and all your loved ones, I trust you had a great Christmas and are now looking forward to an even better New Years Eve. What ever you end up doing I hope it's fun and full of love.
Also the grey days have their beauty :)
ReplyDeleteAt least with your chilly weather there is beauty to behold with it.
ReplyDeleteThe ice crystals are so beautiful and feathery looking. nature really knows how to decorate doesn't it?
