Random ramblings from the cluttered brain of a Brit ex-pat North Devonian trying to keep cool in the steamy summers and warm in the frosty winters of The Great White North.
I LOVE the contrast! That first picture though very snowy, looks so bright and sunny....Maybe the snow will melt away....! LOVE the Spring look, a lot!
You hit L.A. during the months when the air is frighteningly stagnant....We do have our clean and clear days....NOT as often as I would like, but, Monday surely was one of them!
I like the way the shafts of sunlight hit the snow in the first one and the way the snow is piled on top of the birdhouse. Nice composition. You look like you have such an inviting yard to sit in on much more balmy days. Its almost Grammy time, isn't it?
Hi, When you see pictures like these it makes you wonder which is the more beautifull, I love the snow, but hate the cold so I suppose it has to be the Summer for me.
Hi, lovely photos of snow. We're still waiting here, but it seems to be getting warmer, and the daffodils certainly have convinced themselves it's springtime. Thanks for signing up for my giveaway. Have you visited any of the other 240+ blogs with giveaways yet? I'm working my way through them. The whole setup is so sophisticated, because the blog names change colours when you've been there.
I like winter. I like the snow and crisp frost. But your picture from six months ago makes me wish it was warm enough to be taking care of the lawn again!
Geez... we havne;t gotten a decent snowfall, just all these little 2 inch "storms". Yesterday it was 68 degrees and today almost 50. And guess what? I love snow, I even love snow when it is mid April snow. (We once had a dusting of snow in mid April, so I always use that as my 'end' marker--that Same year just 2 weeks later it was 90 degrees for a week!)
Last summer stretched from May 15th to November 3rd--endless hot dry weather. That is a long time to be parched and worried about the air quality index. We had water shortages and everyone was sweaty and uncomfortable... air conditioning bills skyrocketed. By October 1st people were saying "I just can't take one more week of these temps---- and still it went on into Nov.
The perfect winter day and the perfect summer day! We have also the perfect spring day and the perfect autumn day. The problem may be some of the days in between.
I just love the contrast to both those photos. It's a nice garden whatever the weather!
All I have left to ask is, at what time did you make the snowman? You mean you didn't make a snowman with all that great snow just sitting there? Snowmen are not just for kids you know.
both very beautiful pictures. We are having a very springy spell at the moment, I have had washing out on the line. We do not get proper snow though. I like looking at your pictures
The contrast certainly makes you think! Loved the pancake shots on previous post; we eat ours with golden treacle, butter, sugar and lemon juice (brits) can't get enough of a good thing....
Even tho that is a lot of snow, but they are both beautiful

ReplyDeleteas it is cold today I long for the sun, but then when the sun comes I will long for the snow.
Don't you just love those sunshiny blue sky snowy days? So beautiful. But after awhile, I'd crave the warmth.
ReplyDeleteWhich do you prefer?
Oh my! It looks like a picture postcard in both seasons! Lovely photographs. :o)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had A LOT of snow. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was 69 degrees in NYC yesterday -- unseasonably warm.

I wish there was more spring and more autumn.
I like the snow picture best but both are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt serves as a metaphor for the seasons of our lives, doesn't it. Each season brings us something special.

ReplyDeletePerfect contrast. How great to see the opposite ends of the spectrum in one flash:)
ReplyDeleteBoth beautiful pictures, but what I really love is the reminder that soon I can be out in the garden playing in the dirt:)
ReplyDeleteBoth look beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteCome and visit and see what you think Lies Beneath?
Lovely photos. I love the sight of the snow coating everything, but I can imagine you get tired of it eventually!
ReplyDeleteNice spring thoughts.
The snow one is great. We have the second one all the time. Boring!
