Here's the video:
And here's the article from the Telegraph newspaper:
Two lifeboat crews were involved in the rescue after the animal became stuck
on a tiny shale beach surrounded by rough waters in Ceibwr, Moylegrove on
Sunday morning.
Using a head collar from the pony's owner, two crew members waded to the
rescue.
After several failed attempts to capture the frightened animal, they managed
to harness it and lead it out of the cove swimming behind a lifeboat.
However, upon reaching Ceibwr beach the tired animal broke free once more
prompting another round of dangerous attempts to ensnare it.
Once recaptured the pony was loaded into a waiting horsebox and driven back to
her owner's farm to recover from her ordeal.
A very lucky pony.
A very lucky pony.
Ahhh...I had missed that one. So glad they saved the little sole.
ReplyDeleteHorses/ponies can be very difficult in rescue efforts - our SES has pulled them out of bogs, from down old mine shafts and one was even stuck between the walls of two buildings requiring partial demolition of one wall.
ReplyDeleteGlad the pony is safe and well and well done to the rescuers.
Ohhh! One the SES rescued from a muddy dam promptly took itself back in the next day before the owner of the property had time to repair a broken fence! LOL!
Amazing rescue and like you said. One Lucky Pony....
ReplyDeleteHow scared he must have been....Poor Dear!
I think I was holding my breath the whole time I was watching that video. Poor little pony. I'm happy to hear that the brave rescuers were able to help her.
ReplyDeleteI love that someone had the sense to film it, Sham. Poor thing!
ReplyDeleteGood to have rescuers around, for poneys, horses.... people! :-)
ReplyDeleteVery lucky pony indeed!
ReplyDeletePoor frightened sweetie. Good rescue work.
ReplyDeletePoor thing. That must have been terrifying for it and I am so pleased it was saved. Trouble is animals panic as they are not to know that they are being rescued.
