Waverley Station

This pic borrowed from Waverley Station web site.

Gosh, Waverley Station is huge! I traveled to Scotland by train, which was a wonderful journey, and when I arrived in Edinburgh, I couldn't find my way out of the station.

Waverley Station opened in 1846 and was rebuilt between 1892 and 1902. It lies in the valley between the old town and modern Edinburgh, adjacent to Princes Street, Edinburgh Castle and the Princes Street Gardens.
There's a huge shopping mall at the station Thank goodness for the covered escalators to get from the station level to Princes Street, it's a huge hill, I would hate to try and carry luggage up all the steps.
Here's a video of the Sation:
... and if you need to go to the Ladies Loo, it costs 30p, and you better have the right change.

  2. I can see a station of that size being easily the sort of place you'd get lost in.

  4. Oh my goodness, that station is really huge.
I can see why you had a hard time finding your way out of there.
    What a fabulous vacation.
to answer your question, I'm not quite sure what species of whale they saw.
I haven't been able to email chat with him. He's worked the night shift at his hospital ER.
I am just so thrilled he finally got to be with his daughter.
After a very messy divorce getting together with his daughter has been difficult.
He finally got to spend the day together after 3 months of disapointment.
That's about as much detail as I will go into but my heart is happy they could be together.

  6. Gosh that has to be the biggest covered station I've ever seen Shammi, it's like a wee city in itself! Mind you, they get so much rain over there it's probably a necessity 😀 Happy weekend ✨

  8. I like a trip by train. I was so impressed by the grandeur of the Waverley Station. The complicated rail tracks reminded me of Yamato-Saidaiji station in Nara City, which is relatively a small station but has junction of the lines from four directions. I like to see trains guided smoothly from one track to another. Have happy September ahead.
