Snow, wind, and freezing rain today caused hundreds of accidents and horrible traffic tie-ups...
... and those who ran out of gas in the heavy snowbound traffic couldn't fill their cars due to so many gas stations being closed having run out of fuel.....
... and to top it all off, a freight train derailed just outside the city causing havoc to the commuter trains.
Luckily I left work early so I'm at home in the warm.

Wow! and here we are, bemoaning the fact that we only got half a days snow all winter! And some of the schools closed for the day - hahahaha. blimus.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, I really miss a good snowstorm. Of course, I'd have to be safely cuddled up at home with a hot pot of tea or a nice bottle of red wine and nowhere else to go.
ReplyDeleteI love when a bit of nasty weather brings out the best in Torontonians and people actually smile at each other over their misery. Of course I've seen it bring out the worst too!
ReplyDeleteIn Chicago, people "save" their parking spots with chairs when it snows a lot. I live West of Chicago now, and we get plenty of snow, but I don't miss the chair thing.
ReplyDeleteBBBrrrrrrrrr makes me cold just looking at the photos!
ReplyDeleteTuck up warm.
I am doing the 16 mile night walk across Exmoor with some other Shammys tomorrow night so wish me luck!
Yep, sounds a lot like home. Today the sun is trying to come out but it is a fight. More white stuff on the way. Are you sending it our way? If it could wait a day ot two...I broke a shear pin and the thrower chute won't turn...make for a dizzying event!
ReplyDeleteDon't go out! It's not worth it. I hope you're safe and warm inside!
ReplyDeleteYikes that looks horrendous. I'll take my San Francisco almost 60 degrees today.
ReplyDeleteStay warm and get caught up on your reading.
I cross my fingers that your weather conditions will get better very soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for passing by my blog and leaving a nice comment on my nostalgic swap hearts. I am glad you like them. New visitors are always highly appreciated and I am looking forward to welcome you again in my little blogging world!
Gosh, what awful weather. I'm sure spring is just round the corner!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with CS on missing a good snow storm/blizzard. I have so many memories of them from years before Atlanta! Your photos of the storm are absolutely perfect for what you have described. Hopefully the Lamb is soon to follow.
ReplyDeletelooks terrible - I hope the mum and her little one got home ok
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of the mother and child fighting through the winter storm. Beautiful yet traumatizing.
ReplyDeleteI was in Toronto on March 1st for some interviews, and took the train home in the middle of the raging vlizzard. Thankfully, I was heading west, to London, so the worst thing that happened to me was a 2-hour delay out of Union Station. But I made it home that night.
ReplyDeleteThe coolest part of the day was walking across downtown Toronto because the city was in gridlock. The weather was raging, and I was running late for a television interview. I went from frozen and soaked to TV-presentable in minutes. Watching the interview, it's impossible to tell that I was ever outside!
Thanks for bringing back a great memory. It was such a neat day!
