Snowmageddon?

Southern Ontario is currently being buffeted by 80km/h winds and heavy snowfall... more than 20cm of snow expected today, 13cm has fallen so far.... and more snow has been forecast for Sunday. And maybe even more next Tuesday!
Some joker in the weather office has dubbed it Snowmageddon!

The back yard is looking pretty. Quite Chrismassy in fact.

Looking through my computer room window onto the street, I see the snow whipping past horizontally. Thank goodness I don't have to drive anywhere. I'm staying in the warm and doing indoor things today.
So far I've made stew, baked bread, written Christmas cards, wrapped prezzies, and talked on the phone.
A very productive day.

  5. What a great view for writing Christmas cards. We're getting snow too here, 8-14 inches due today, wrapping up late tonight, with more again on Sunday. Tis the season!

  6. Wow, you're much more productive than I. My energy leval has taken a nose-dive since the kids left. Maybe I just have senioritis....
That's some snow you are having. Its pretty to look at but I'm glad I don't have to contend with it myself.
    Have a great weekend.

  8. Yay! we got snow too-- only about 5 inches, but it's still coming down.

Red snowflakes? This I gotta see! Are you sure they're not big red maple leaves? (Canada joke)

  9. Hands down it sure beats sand in the budgie smuggler regions this time of year. Hunker down and wait for the wind to stop then out into it, nothing like it IMO.

  11. It looks absolutely fabulous. A good idea to stay indoors if it's blowing horizontally. It's quite warm here at the moment. I doubt if we'll get a white Christmas.

  12. Hi, We would dearly (or me anyway) love some of your snow over here, that would really make my Christmas. Here in Teignmouth I cant remember snow on christmas day, at least not in the last twenty years. So now shammy you just take care while out on those sleigh slopes, don't fall off now will you.

  14. yes, it's quite lovely and nostalgic, but it's happening on a WEEKEND. in these parts, nobody loves snow unless it falls M-F. it doesn't matter how much falls then....a few inches will close down the whole town! no skool, no work, no driving anywhere!

sorry to be the grinch in your lovely scenario.....*:0)

  17. It all looks really pretty, but I bet it is not that good to go about your daily things in. I can not imagine.
However, day indoors doing lots of things is a very productive day.

  22. I just said on another blog how cool it would be to have a white Christmas, the only problem being if it actually happened in the UK, Britain would grind to a standstill, sad but true! Maybe one Christmas I'll come to Canada!
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
