Giving Thanks

Today is Canadian Thanksgiving Day. Those of us who live north of the border don't want to wait for November to eat our turkey dinners and our pumpkin pies like our neighbours to the south. We want them NOW!

Here are a few of the things that I'm thankful for today.... and there are many more than this.
  • Good health.... myself and my family.
  • A roof over my head, a comfy bed to sleep in, and food on the table.
  • My cheeky grandchildren; tomboys Callum and Isaac, feisty little Max and sweet Emma.
  • Hot water coming out of the tap whenever I want it.... that has always seemed like a miracle to me.
  • The fact that I'm enjoying the rides at Disney with my family around me today (yes this is a scheduled post).
  • My dishwasher.
  • Electricity. I grew up without it.
  • Chocolate. Especially DARK chocolate. Actually, any kind of chocolate. I'm not fussy. mmmmm.
This is a scheduled post as I'm still away... back in a couple of days.

    Hope you are having fun at Disney.
    Funny the things we take for granted that we should be thankful for isn't it? Hot water was always a 'production' at house when I was young.
    I must remember to be thankful for that too.

    Happy Thanksgiving Shammie.
    We here in North America have so much to be thankful for. I agree with your list.
    Family, friends our home and food on the table. What could be better?
    Absolutely nothing!
    Have a glorious time at Disney...one of my favorite, magical places to visit.

    Happy T day, Shammy! Hope Disney pays some homage to its Canadian visitors by serving turkey with all the trimmings! And here I thought you all ate poutine on your big holidays! Or is that just the French-speakers??

    Canadians are smart enough to spread their two turkey feasts out a bit. What do Americans do: have ham for one of those meals? Shudder. Not that I hate ham, but I sure don't want it for either of those feasts.

    You will all be pleased to know that the Liberty Tree Tavern within the Magic Kingdom serves Thanksgiving Dinner every evening of every day. Now that is magical!
