The Hippy Hippy Shake

Remember that song... The Hippy Hippy Shake?
As a teenager I remember the song being a huge hit by The Swinging Blue Jeans in England in 1963, but apparently was performed by many other artists.... the Beatles, Little Tony, Chan Romero, Mud, Billy Childish, Davy Jones, Jesse and the Rippers, The Georgia Satellites, most of whom I've never heard of.

I've got my own version of the Hippy Hippy Shake.... here. Six months in and everything's looking good.

  1. Why, I wonder, do the Swinging Blue Jeans wear suits? So glad to hear and see that healing is taking place - has taken place - and you'll soon be 100% if you aren't already.

  2. I would like to me too, it was so good. I still have to wait and believe that it will be fine and the pain will end when walking, and not only. Thank you for this wonderful post and the song, which I really like. We also snow and cold. Regards.

  7. Looking good. At my aunt and uncles 50th many years ago, my cousin said there was more plastic and nylon on the dance floor than in Canadian Tire

  13. I remember the Swinging Blue Jeans - contemporaries of the Beatles - curiously, the song (pretty much a standard for beat groups of the time, I think) came on the radio the other day. Glad all is well - next week 'The Twist', perhaps?

  16. I remember hearing his song long long time ago but didn’t know the group’s name. The Swinging Blue Jeans wearing tie and suit? I’m sorry I didn’t know about your hip problem but nice to know everything looks going okay. My mother got femur break at 88. Fortunately her health condition allowed her to have surgery and miraculously she could walk in the rest of her life till 96. I remember a long artificial bone inserted in her thigh. Take care and stay warm.
