On a quiet country road just a 5 minute drive from where I live, someone is building a house. It's not a small modest family house like the other homes further along the street, it's........
........ a gigantic castle!
I'll drive by periodically and post pics of the progress. I'm dying to find out what that cone shape is for.... probably a turret to top off the bell tower? I wonder if there's a dungeon in the basement?
Would you want to live in a house as big as this?
Oh my.
ReplyDeleteI would be intrigued watching it grow, but no, I wouldn't want to live in it. Imagine the cleaning?
It would be easy to find a quiet corner though...
I bet you could get a few refugee families in there.
ReplyDeleteI want to downsize from our modest home. I wouldn't want to have to keep that thing clean. Then again, I guess they'll pay staff to do that. I guess people have them because they can.
ReplyDeleteSome build! - it reminds me of the Puglia houses in Italy, without the conical roof - wonder if the designer/owner had been there and was inspired. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trullo
ReplyDeleteI guess if I had the money for a house that big I would probably have the money to furnish it and hire staff to keep it clean.
ReplyDeleteHow many bedrooms can you sleep in at one time? Just too darn big for me.
Oh and by the way....
Happy belated birthday....(:0)
Same day...that's terrific.
I live in a house for two generations. I would like to downsize it for a comfortable and a simple lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy new week, Shammic!
What's really funny is that there's a similar home in northeast Ocala - very similar! I posted a picture of it several years ago. When I first saw your photo I thought it was a motel/hotel!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like they are building a small Country Inn....!
ReplyDeleteIs that possible or is it someone's actual home...?
I look forward to more pictures, my dear.....!
Probably the latest mansion rumoured to belong to Elton John. There's a similar one in Port Dover.. and various others being built in various Ontario communities - Stouffville among them. For whatever reason (possibly truth) folks believe they belong to Sir Elton. Maybe this is one of them.
ReplyDeleteGood heavens!! Not me, I would not like to live in such a big place. Keep us updated on photos, would like to see what it looks like in the end. Oh boy!!
ReplyDeleteNo thanks. Now days again if you've got it, flaunt it. Yuk....:(
ReplyDeleteNot my style!!
ReplyDeleteIt has go to be townies. No?
ReplyDeleteIn Minnesota we would ask, " I wonder what it costs to heat that place?"
ReplyDeleteWow---nice to fantasize for a moment though. However, my house is quite big enough for me to clean and decorate for the seasons. I guess if you can afford to build a home like that, you can very likely afford cleaners and decorators though!!
ReplyDeleteSome sort of weird cult moving in? :-)
ReplyDeleteMust belong to someone with stacks of money. You never know, you may get invited to some good parties.
