Men at Work - Part 1

Anyone remember Bernard Cribbins and "Hole in the Ground"?
Perhaps you have to be British and of A Certain Age for this to be familiar.......

"Don't dig there, dig it elsewhere
Your digging it round and it ought to be square
The shape of it's wrong, it's much too long
And you can't put a hole where a hole don't belong."

  1. Is that for a septic tank??

Is that a can of beer in his hand??

  2. Hey Ming... not a septic tank, but probably a sewer manhole. Lots of growth in this small town and with more people comes more you-know-what, and it all has to go somewhere!
    And beer? I'm not telling.

  3. Brilliant!! Really made me chuckle!! well done

  4. ha! I bet the builders have the 'Blue print' upside down and that should have been a big chimney.

  5. Not forgetting "Right said Fred, 'ave to 'ave the wall down ..."

Ah yes ... I remember them well ... with a bit of prompting. Shall be humming or whistling all night now!!

Weren't we the bees knees in our PVC?!!! Still feel better when I wear my collars up - hee hee!

  6. Well, I don't know "Hole in the Ground", but the pict is great. Has the guy on the right lost something in there??

  7. This type of project seems there is always one person doing the work and two or three standing around watching, great shot. I don't know for sure what a duck stamp is but I think it has something to do with duck hunting, and if that is the case I don't know why that would get you into a wildlife refuge. Maybe they are teasing the hunters?

  8. not heard that for a long time -good old Bernard Cribbens

  9. I don't know the program but your song is funny and probably has some truth to it.
