Decluttering - Step 2

The decluttering continues!
Here's my fridge. Do you think it's time to spring-clean the magnets and all the attachments? But I need them all.... honest!

I've always admired plants with a silvery hue to the leaves, as in the picture of the garden top centre.... maybe this is the year that I create a silver garden of my own. The pictures on the right at the top are of my home town in England... a little bit of nostalgia to make me feel homesick.
The horses pinned to the main door live just down the road from here... zoom in and you might be able to see the birds keeping their feet warm.

What's pinned to your fridge? Or do you have one of the new stainless steel variety that doesn't accept magnets?

Of course, I can rely on expert assistance in the kitchen when the cupboards need emptying....

.... and my helper is extremely thorough when it comes to sorting out the plastic storage containers.

There's so much decluttering going to happen round here I might have to get a huge garbage skip delivered to the driveway.

  1. Oh, you can't even see the door of my fridge for all the postcards, schedules, coupons, etc. etc. on it.

Look at him go, walking and helping!!

  2. He is precious! Bet he loves "cooking" with the plastic containers and wooden spoons too.

My fridge is chock full of photos with magnetic backing. Most of them older pics of my kids, friends, relatives. I can see at what point my life became too hectic to update. LOL

  3. My fridge is quite clean nowadays, not like when the kids were still around with all their "best" paintings! Maybe I should start using it for some stickers, try not to forget things...? (This reminds me also that I should clean my fridge. Maybe tomorrow?)

  4. That looks scarily like our refrigerator.

MY WIFE had an idea for a coffee table book once, called "Refrigerator Art". It would consist of photos of people's refrigerators, taken at random, no chance to clean them up or otherwise prettify them before the photo. There would be a small amount of accompanying text, to explain the more interesting items. Someday...

  6. I love your little helper. It really brings back memories and smiles.
My refrigerator was always covered with "treasures" when we lived in our other home. It had magnets from every place we visited, some special pictures and drawings from the grandkids.
Now we have nothing. I have really decluttered the surfaces since we moved.

  7. Of course, a fridge tells the owners personality. You scream the cold weather is for horses and you'd prefer to be down by the sunny coast.

  8. Something's missing from that fridge ... You need to buy a box of the kids' alphabet magnets for your little one there to decorate the door!!

  10. refrigerators are fun now...not like the old days when they just stood there and collected ice in freezer, which then had to be defrosted--UGH!

  11. What a sweet little helper! He can come and play at my house anytime. Emptying cupboards is a good way to play at grandma's!
My fridge has magnets and grandkids pics, old post cards and an eagle. A golden eagle made by hubby's 5 year old grandson with gold sparkle paints.

  13. When we got a new fridge a few years(2) ago...my husband made me promise...no magnets!!! so I have stuck to that pretty well..I do have 2 magnets from Korea on it and they are lovely...wouldn't hold up a small cutting from a newspaper but they are pretty! I am impressed that you are able to declutter and your little helper is adorable!

  16. What fun. Decluttering is so much fun when shared, as you are usually persuaded to keep things not throw them out 'as you never know when you may need them'!!!

  19. I like clutter. I think it has taken on a bad name. Clutter inspires art.

  20. What a great helper!

Talking about de-cluttering, what's the deal with Site Meter, and their clean slate effect on the world map?! I LIKED having a whole bunch of red dots, and now I have to start all over again.

  23. You don't want to know how many trips I've made to Goodwill, consignment and flea market ladies! Next week I start to sell on eBay/Amazon, just like you have done. Donica just closed on her new condo and will move out the first week of March, after she returns from this present trip to Europe. Then I'll pack up my things and wait for the house to sell. It's quite the Journey!
