The local Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership celebrated the Grand Opening at it's new location tonight with a pig roast and live entertainment by a country music group. We got an invitation and so....
... we had a free supper of roast pig on a bun with all the trimmings, potato salad, coleslaw, even beer (but I was driving, and The Space Cadet doesn't drink), and strawberry tarts for dessert.
Did you at least test drive one and drool a little before telling them you were just there for the free food?
ReplyDeleteRoast pork on a roll sounds really good just about right now.
ReplyDeleteYou should have the Space Cadet drive so you can indulge a little.
Mmmmm, pig roast! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh about your comment about 'japes' - thanks for calling in! I haven't heard the word either for such a long time but it came to me in a flash of inspiration! Have to admit I wondered if anyone out there would know what I was talking about!!
LOL! Love that you drove home in your VW! Sounds like it was quite a lot of fun, the roast pork looks mouthwatering! I'll bet it smelled wonderful too.
ReplyDeletewhat an interesting blog, my first visit today. Was curious about you after reading your comments on combe martin blog! The food looks deliciously tempting!!!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks worth the drive over; hope they got someone to test drive a few cars as well.
ReplyDeleteLooks yum!
ReplyDeleteMMMMMmmmmm! Sounds delish!!! But you didn't buy a jeep??? Hmmm. I wonder if it would have been a fair exchange anyway. Free meal and pay some XY'000$.
ReplyDeletesound like some good food, it was probably for the best you didn't get a jeep. nice shots!
ReplyDeleteVW's rock!
Yummy!! Looks good to me, I am sure that our Barnstaple Ford dealer would offer just a bag of crisps if we were lucky!
ReplyDeleteis the little pig SMILING??
ReplyDeleteSome mouthwatering shots...I am really feeling hungry now.
ReplyDeleteThat all looks yummy. They really want to sell some cars, don't they. there are all kinds of deals around here, trying to unload inventory.
ReplyDeleteA wise decision to stay with your old car!
ReplyDeleteThe highest concentration of these jeeps, 4 wheel driven etc... here are not on the countryside where they may be needed but in the more fashionable areas of Paris. A terror when you think about the Paris way of parking, making your place, pushing forwards and backwards... !
oh yum!
ReplyDeletethose strawberry tarts look delish
I could never pass up a roast pig no matter how many cars they dangled before my eyes. Sounds like you had fun besides getting a free meal. :)
ReplyDeleteREPLY ALL:
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Rosemary, it was the free food that was the draw, not the opportunity to test drive a Jeep. When there's free food being offered, we're right there! I'll keep my little VW for a while, much more economical on gas and easier to park. And you're very observant, Extreme, he does look as though he's smiling! Happy to be of service I guess.
Oh wow what a feast that was, wonder how many jeeps they ended up selling?
