This is the View of the back yard while we're having breakfast in the sun room at the back of the house. The sun room faces east and gets the morning sun. The Space Cadet enjoys his bacon and eggs while I have my usual toast and coffee. The binoculars are close by to watch the birds flying in and out of the bird house (NO, we don't spy on the neighbours.... well, not often). Pass the marmalade, please!
I'm not a garden expert, but here's a few of the flowers in the garden.
Can anyone tell me the name of the flower at bottom left? It blooms very early in the spring, and when the flowers are over, has dark green leaves with white spots.
Those are beautiful flowers, though I'm afraid I cannot name the one you inquired about.
ReplyDeleteI just popped over from Photowannabes blog where I saw your comment about the strangeness of finding her post of a backyard after you'd posted about your own.
ReplyDeleteI've had this same thing happen a few times to me. I read somewhere that lots of bloggers experience this phenomenon and that it's called "blog synchronicity".
Happy blog synchronicity to you today.
Yes Happy Blog Synchronicity to you too.
ReplyDeleteLove your backyard. I can't wait to put some flowers in ours and have some color there. Love your Iris but dont know what the other flower is. I know there is one called the polka dot plant but I don't think it flowers.
Your purple flower us pulmonaria or lung wort. I've got it in our garden too, in both the original purple form and in white.
ReplyDeleteI love your irises and your view!
That garden looks sooper dooper, I will be round for coffee in a minute (well a week or two by the time I have trecked and swam)
ReplyDeleteSo, thanks to blogging you now got the name of the flower!
ReplyDeleteIt really looks inviting to share breakfast with you, so nice and peaceful!
Nice shot and everything looks good.
ReplyDeleteBaby raccoons. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

A room with a view! Oh, how lovely. And your irises are my favorite flowers in the whole world!
ReplyDeleteAha! Thanks to Peggy, I now also know what they're called! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely view you have. OX yould love to have his bacon and egs there, too... and I'll just join you for the coffee and toast... ;)
I love your flowers. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! I was thinking, how could they resist from spying on the neighbors at least once in awhile. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour backyard garden is gorgeous.
lovely pictures - i have pulmonaria too, but prefer to call it one of its common names over here which is "Lords and ladies" - nice, eh?
ReplyDeleteyour garden looks lovely.
Nice Narnia lamp post!
Fantastic selection of flowers, so bright and happy! Need something like that on a dull foggy wet day like today!
ReplyDeleteSee someone beat me to it!!! A lovely selection of flower pictures! I like your pink and purple chairs by the way!!!
ReplyDeleteI would have thought it was diseased. But no, it's not leaf-leprosy, Lung Wort is actually supposed to look like that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely view of your garden you have. Love the colourful chairs and your lovely array of flowers too. I see that someone gave you the name of your mystery plant already. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, everyone for your kind words about the back yard. It's looking pretty green right now cos we've had quite a bit of rain, but after a couple of weeks of hot dry weather it won't look so good. Special thanks to Peggy for "ID"ing the lungwort. I didn't know it came in white too, I've only seen the pink/purple.
ReplyDeleteThe coffee's on, so anyone who wants to drop by for breakfast will be made very welcome!
Collages are fun to make, especially when there's more than one photo to share. The flowers are SO lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe back yard is just beautiful and very charming! Lovely flowers, too!
