Live music

Back in the Dark Ages when I was a youngster in England, I hung out at a lot of folk clubs. I loved live music, and saw lots of folkies perform including Martin Carthy, Peggy Seeger and Ewen McColl, Alex and Rory McEwen, loads more whose names I've forgotten. I always wanted to play the guitar but never learned, although I was given a guitar that I strummed along on and actually memorised 3 chords, but the musical gene has definitely missed me.

I was recently reading a list of live music concerts that my bloggie friend Suldog has enjoyed, so I thought I'd try and remember all the concerts that I've seen.

Here's my list.... fairly short and in no particular order. Lots of Canadian performers. If I remember any more I'll add them. Anyone else like to offer up a list?

  2. I suspect your list is a lot longer than mine.
About the only one I can remember now is Midnight Oil (in the seventies some time) though there are at least a few more.

  5. These mostly aren’t the genre of music to which you refer. Stan Kenton, Four Freshmen, Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme, Julie Wilson, Oscar Peterson, Dizzy Gillespie, Chick Corea, Ben Harper, Jackson Browne, Chris Botti immediately come to mind, but there were others. Some of these werre In small intimate settings which I prefer.

  6. Gosh Shammi will have to get my thinking cap on 😀 I remember a John McLaughlin concert, ACDC , Chris Izaac, the Eagles.. but that's as far as my memory takes me 😀

  7. There is definitely nothing like live music...I have been to a few concerts and music in a more intimate setting and it always gives me a boost.
It was fun to read your list, though most I don't know .
So far we are doing okay with all the wind and rain in our area. Snow is really dumping just a few hours from where I live.
We have to turn on our sump pump every once and a while since our drains don't work too well but we aren't what you would call flooding.
I think it must be quite awful where the devastating fires destroyed so many homes..just a few hours north of us too. California isn't doing well...physically, mentally or emotionally. That's about as political as I will get...
Right now it's pouring but at least it isn't as cold as it has been...cold for us anyway. (:0)

  8. I would loved to have seen Ray Charles.

I've seen Everly Bros, Little Richard and Bo Diddley, and loved them all.
