One rainy/sunny/rainy/sunny day last week I looked out of my back door and saw a rainbow. I grabbed the camera before it disappeared. (Not the camera, the rainbow!).
Then I thought I'd use my "colour enhancement" button on my little point'n'shoot Canon, and see what happens.
Oooooh that's really spectacular! So I went to the front of the house to look up into the sky before the sunset faded.
A nice sunset highlighting the clouds, but let's try the "colour enhancement" button again.
WOW! And they say the camera never lies.
Well.... perhaps that used to be true but no longer. The camera can't be trusted to tell the truth at all!
I am sure that the camera lies every time I see a photo of myself. And I don't feel enhanced at all.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the colours produced in 'enhanced mode' and avoid it. I do like your last photo though. Rather a lot.
That is a bit of an over-the-top bit of processing, but it seems pretty much believable in the last photo.
ReplyDeleteI’ve never used Enhanced mode. Must try it. Interesting!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely rainbow!
ReplyDeleteThe last rainbow I saw, I didn't have a camera handy.
In regards to your question at yesterday's post, several embassies and ambassador residences take part in Doors Open; this was the only one I got to this year.
Wowsers! That's pretty spectacular Shammi, both before and after enhancement 💛
ReplyDeleteThat looks incredible. I have never played with my camera settings, maybe I should after seeing what you did. The last two photos look like an inferno.
ReplyDeleteA love rainbows. Even if the camera doesn't lie, the after processing does!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos! Just ranking! Lots of hugs!
ReplyDeleteI think I know how you enjoyed using “color enhancement.” I often wonder what is the true color. To be exact, colors look different with each passing moment. Color of the photo changes as you set your camera’s white balance, auto, sunny, cloudy, and so on. My favorite photos are the ones given a hint of brush.
