Random ramblings from the cluttered brain of a Brit ex-pat North Devonian trying to keep cool in the steamy summers and warm in the frosty winters of The Great White North.

White Iris
The white iris is blooming by the pond at the end of the street.
The heron in the distance is actually made of metal, but I often see a real great blue heron wading in the shallows, snacking on whatever good things he can find in the water.
The white irises stand proud and elegant. I like the way how you framed the heron. Without your explanation, I could have taken it as real due to the blur, though it looks a little weird.
That's a gorgeous composition Shammi, why did I think of that glamourous shot of Marylnn Monroe's skirt blowing up in the famous shot of her standing on the subway grate ✨
Such gorgeous irises. Great photo!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. They are blooming here too.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely. You have filled me with the need to find some white irises, which I don't recall seeing. The heron is a wonderful bonus.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely and elegant.
ReplyDeleteGreat framing of the "heron"
Maybe I need to Repost my shot of the white iris too.

ReplyDeleteYoko
Framing the heron was completely accidental. I was concentrating on photographing the iris when I noticed the heron at the water's edge.
DeleteI love the lighting in this photo and the metal Heron in the background is an added bonus!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I almost put my back out, bending down to take this photo!
