Finally.... a snowstorm worth shovelling!
The past couple of winters here have been virtually storm free, producing hardly any snow to speak of. But Friday made up for it with high winds, low temperatures and about 30cm of snow.

| The wind created a wild snow sculpture on the deck. I watched it get higher and higher throughout the day.... this is the following morning. |

| The window wells in the basement were almost filled with snow. |
There was the usual mayhem on the roads. People slipping and sliding into ditches. Lots of fender benders. Usually people who hadn't bothered to equip their cars with snow tires. I decided not to go anywhere and enjoyed a lazy day in my nice warm house.
If you want more snow and winter in general, you could move to the Ottawa area. :)

ReplyDeleteIt's very pretty, but I know it wreaked havoc on the east coast. Jimmy was in Boston and got one of the only flights out on Friday. Definitely a good day to stay tucked in at home with a good book.
ReplyDeleteNice photos of the snow, and it makes me want to stay home as well. Our snow is almost melted and last night it rained continuously. It is so much easier to get somewhere with clean streets, no ice or slush. Even getting to the car and into the car can be hazardous.

ReplyDeleteWe had a surprise snow fall last night - a couple of inches, just enough to cause a bit of havoc. Most of it has gone now, though.
