Autumn Solstice happens today 22 September, unless of course, you're located on the Southern Hemisphere where you'll be welcoming Spring. The weather here in Ontario has a touch of chill in the evenings and the maple leaves are starting to show patches of red and gold. But it's still a beautiful sunny day, definitely shirtsleeve weather, and winter's a very distant threat!
Time to get the harvest in from the fields.
There's still a long way to go to get this cornfield done.
But it will all be complete by the end of the day with the use of the harvester farm equipment. Time to get onto the next field tomorrow.
What lovely photos. I do love this time of year.
ReplyDeleteAbout an hours drive from our home they are beginning the rice harvest. Our friend does this everyday for 10 days to get the field done so it can go to the processing plant.
Happy Autumn Solstice
Sue
I wonder what machinery is used for the rice harvest? Yes, it's a lovely time of year, and today it's so warm and sunny!
Deletethe machinery looks a lot like threshing machines, dividing the rice beads from the covering. I will try to find a photo and send it to you.

Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is a lovely, lovely season - and your photos capture some of that magic. Thank you.
Perfect weather to bring the crops in from the fields. The tractor drivers waved to me when I took their pictures.
DeleteBeautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteLovely countryside around here. Very rural.
DeleteGreat harvest photos!
ReplyDeleteBringing in the winter feed for the livestock.
DeleteI always find it strange (although I shouldn't!) that as you head into autumn we head into spring. Instead of harvest we have planting, and instead of fall colour we have the bright freshness of new growth. Happy Equinox Day! :)
ReplyDeleteThe part that I find most strange is that you have Christmas in the middle of the summer while we are knee deep in snow! Happy Equinox Day to you too!
DeleteLovely shots
ReplyDeleteIt was a perfect day for a walk.
DeleteIn the right places, we are getting some nice pops of colour, here in The Valley, as they say.
ReplyDeleteAnother chilly night and then the colours will really start to show! I'll be out with my camera, and so will you.
