A field near my house is covered with sunny sunflowers.... not the spectacular giant 10 foot high variety, but smaller with more blooms. I was told that the farmer went to the local Costco and bought bird seed grade sunflower seed, and this field is the result. That's an awful lot of bird seed.
A HEAP of bird seed. A field of them in bloom always lifts my spirits.
ReplyDeleteThe birds should find plenty to eat in this field.
DeleteThat was a lot of birdseed for sure!
ReplyDeleteHappy birds!
DeleteI hope the birds get to enjoy some of the harvest!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how this field will be harvested, but I am driving in that direction next week so will have a look.
DeleteSome years, a nearby farmer has a sunflower field that we can walk through. Not so this year. Sadly.
ReplyDeleteI could walk through this field but the plants are not very tall.
DeleteNo doubt my feathered friends will appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteThe birds know exactly where this field is, and probably are telling all their friends too!
DeleteLovely photo. Will he harvest it for bird seed? That is a lucrative market if you are connected. Canary seed is a huge crop in Saskatchewan and is useless for anything but feeding canaries.
ReplyDeleteI had 2 canaries when I was a child.... but I don't know anyone who has them now.
DeleteOh my...for sure...that's a huge field of gorgeous flowers.
ReplyDeleteI really love sunflowers.
Think I will try to grow some this next year.

ReplyDeleteAd I'm sure the birds are very grateful!
